It will also give an overview of the JISC TechDis Toolbar, an open-source, cross-browser toolbar to help students customise the way they view and interact with webpages and MyStudyBar, an open-source tool designed to support learners with literacy-related difficulties such as dyslexia.
There will be a demonstration of examples of Accessibility Kit and the opportunity for delegates to try out the equipment.

PEL recognises the need for the development of pedagogical skills in using ILT and give lecturers a chance to reflect on where they can embed ILT to enhance their teaching and learning.
The workshop consists of 2 sessions of 2 hours run on different days:
In Session 1, the delegate is given the chance to reflect on where they use ILT currently in their teaching, identify their ILT staff development needs and examine a Scheme of Work in which they wish to incorporate ILT
In Session 2, the delegate can use their Scheme of Work to incorporate ILT into a Lesson they will be teaching. They are also given a chance to share good practice with their peers and they complete the workshop with a piece of finished work in which they have incorporated ILT.

(Using PowerPoint 2007 interactively and creatively in teaching and learning)

Many tutors are adept at using PowerPoint. They often use it to introduce topics to students and/or summarise the main points of a topic they are teaching. Sometimes learners and tutors! can find using PowerPoint solely in this way tedious and boring.
PowerPoint can be used more interactively and creatively. One way is by using and developing pre-designed templates. These PowerPoint templates can be then used to question students and test student learning, adding variety into a lesson and even some fun!
This practical workshop will examine and develop some pre-designed templates which you can use for your own teaching to question students and test their learning.
