RSCs – Stimulating and Supporting Innovation in Learning
In August 2007 northern Ireland Further Education Colleges merged from 16 to 6. The impact of this change on all colleges was immense in terms of Infrastructural changes. During this academic year the RSCni will be featuring Infrastuctural best practices from the sector, highlighting how the new colleges have achieved systems integration and the techniques for managing and maintaining such large networks.

Some college have made the jump to Microsoft Exchange 2007 email server, and some are considering for the future. The RSCni hope to organise technical training to update IT staff skills from previous versions to the new system in a workshop format
RSCni have teamed up with Apple UK to provide support on systems integration. First event will be an introduction to the new server OS platform and provide hands on experience of integration with Windows networks. Expected date Oct/Nov 07.
RSCni technical adviser has experience of installing, administering Moodle VLE. Including systems integration and advice of auto enrolment of courses.
RSCni has experience of sharepoint (MOSS 2007) implementations and can advise our clients on collaboration within your college environments including the installation and integrations with VLE's and network systems.
